Youth Day Recognition of Workers

God gives us children for a time
To teach them how to love the Lord,
To train them in His righteous ways,
To follow and obey His Word.

~ Sper ~

"BE AN EXAMPLE TO THE BELIEVERS"

IN WORD – Young people who make a difference for Christ control what they
say, avoid negative talk, and speak words that honor God.
IN CONDUCT – Teens who practice discretion in their behavior shine
for all the world to see.
IN LOVE – By taking heed of Jesus’ words to love God and their neighbor,
teens please Jesus and touch hearts.
IN FAITH – Those who put their faith into action change lives.
IN PURITY – It’s tough to be morally pure and doctrinally sound, but
kids who are can set the bar for the rest of us.

Remember: we all should be an example in word, conduct, love,
faith, and purity, as we make an impact for Christ. Amen!

GWS Youth and Young Adults participated in an all-night "lock-in" at the YWCA.
They experienced fun, food, and fellowship during this exciting occasion,
plus they learned valuable lessons also.

"GWS YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS...LOCK-IN"

We are extremely grateful for our Youth Coordinator, Mrs. Lori H. Meeks and the
Young Adult Staff for allowing our students to have these rewarding
experiences. The GWS Mission is to prepare and empower our
Youth and Young Adults as future leaders.

NEWS FROM THE GWS SUNDAY SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

Sunday, March 6, 2011, Ms. April Thompson, News Anchor from News Channel 3
spoke to the Youth and Young Adult Department at the Greater White Stone
Missionary Baptist Church’s Sunday School Department. Ms. Thompson shared her
three P’s for success in life, which are Planning, Perseverance, and Prayer.
Mr. Bernard Washington, Superintendent of the Youth Department, consistently manages
to secure positive role models from our community every first and
third Sunday in the month to speak to our youth ages 12 and above.

Hats off to Mr. Washington for his commitment, dedication,
and faithfulness to our youth.

Young People ask yourselves, "What good thing can I do today in Jesus name?

ATTITUDES TOWARD SERVING

No matter what you are doing for God, it matters!
If you serve on the set-up or tear-down team
in a new church, it matters. If you are a greeter
and seek to warmly welcome people to your weekend services,
it matters. If you are hidden away preparing Communion,
it matters. Serving your community, serving the church, serving
your family — it all matters.

Scripture: "In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening
withhold not thine hand: for thou knoweth not whether shall
prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good."
Ecclesiastes 11:6 (KJV)

"YOUNG PEOPLE SPOTLIGHT!!!"

"Congratulations to Little Miss Danielle Jackson!"

Little Miss Jackson

Danielle Jackson is the daughter of Mr. Troy Jackson and Ms. Allacy Pickett.
She is also the granddaughter of Ms. Eddye Jean Pickett,
Sunday School Superintendent. Danielle is an active member of the
Mrs. Regina Baker’s Sunday School Class at Greater White Stone M. B. Church.

She is currently an eighth grade honor student at Bellevue
Middle School where she holds a cumulative GPA of 4.667 for
the first semester. While maintaining her grades, she is also a member
of the majorette, debate team, and the National Junior Honor Society.
Recently, Danielle was a participant in the Solace Martine Luther King essay
contest where she won 3rd place. Incidentally, Solace is the workplace
of her aunt, Ms. Eureka Pickett. Danielle is an inspiring,
completive, and God-centered young lady and we proudly salute her
for these outstanding accomplishments.

HATS OFF TO DANIELLE!!
WE ARE EXTREMELY PROUD OF YOU!!

"It is more important to be the right person than to look for the right person."

SUCCESS

The road to success is not straight...
there is a curve called failure...
A loop called confusion...
Speed bumps called friends...
Caution lights called enemies...
You will have flats called jobs BUT...
If you have a spare called determination...
An engine called perservance...
Insurance called FAITH...
A driver called
JESUS...
You will make it to a place called SUCCESS!!

Nothing in the world is more dangerous
than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.
- Martin Luther King Jr.

A Powerful Tool!

"THE MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE!"

"Dare To Witness For Christ"

Young People start today committing your life to Christ and begin
by reading your Bible daily, Pray daily, and develop an unquenchable fire within
you to reach out to help the hopeless. Tell them about Jesus Christ our Savior,
who came to give us abundant and eternal life.

Finally, when you minister to others, you will be truly surprised with the change in yourself.
Remember, we should reach out to people everywhere we go.

God is "able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think"
(Ephesians 3:20, KJV).

Should you have a problem or need to ask a question about your witness for Christ,
or other matters and concerns, send me an e-mail.

Witnessing!
